Yes this is child abuse. Hitting a child in any way as a parent or guardian is child abuse. Also comparing two people fighting and a grown man hitting his 'daughters' till they scream with a wire is not the same at all. A fight is something you choose to do. As an adult you can walk away these kids live in his house.

Also I'm sure most rowdy or bad kids are cause by problems with either parenting or something else in the home is lacking. That's what they use to do in the old days at school or even at home and you saw nothing like twerking and all the stupid shit that goes on now with teens. Maybe this shit wasn't bad after all and helped control the society. Because every time you did bad you always had that one thing in the back of your head knowing if you got caught you're fucked which lead to people not doing as much stupid shit. I would actually love to see jack ass kids get beat in school thinking they're all cool and shit when they fuck around. I'd laugh my ass off.

As for why people may be disrespectful there is a number of reason in life... All physical punishment taught was that I'm angry it is best to hit something... And the abuse only made my rage all that much harder to control. I worry about who I will become, because of that experience.
What taught me respect was my parents splitting up and seeing how hard my mom struggled... Since then, I try not to be disrespectful to anyone; including those who are to me.
In the end maybe a quick slap on the side of the head and isolation from the outside world and media would have gotten their act in order.

Your probably right dude, but usually these kinds of beatings are done with belts, leather belts, and that shit HURTS, not to mention leaving markings.
What happened to you was straight up abuse though, you didnt even do anything,. Lol, now thats what i like to call having troll parents. No one deserves that shit.
