The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 was brought up, I will acknowledge that the car can reach speeds of 217 miles per hour. Now without a doubt that is fast, faster than the majority of production cars.


The question is this, what do you consider a supercar?


To me those were once supercars. They may still be radical in design and performance, and the craftsmanship... superb. However they cannot compare to the likes of a Bugatti or Hennessey. Surely millions have heard of Bugatti, but Hennessey, most likely car tuning enthusiast are the only ones who know about Hennessey. Maybe I’m wrong about using the word supercar, could these two companies manufacture the first hypercar or are they already in that league thus leaving behind Ferrari and Lamborghini?

Price.

$200,000-$1,000,000 - supercar
$1,000,000+ - hypercar

haha but yes, unaware need to realize supercars must be factory-built, not some chop shop creation. It might be blazing fast - but it is not a supercar.

I think it is anything that is exotic and has a v10+ motor on it.

Price, speed and engine size in my opinion.

Cylinders don't determine a car. A overused example, but an R35 has a V6, but is widely retarded as a super car.
