Gamers do not need a whole slew of 25 but just one or two. Don't get me wrong I love dogs and have all my life but a dog is actually bad for gaming.

  1. Gamers need cats because they sleep a lot and keep company. A cat will perch up onto your desk and happily snooze away in a ball while you dice lions. They will sleep and do not complain or give a bother therefore allowing you to maintain your much needed focus for that 500% ticket bf3 conquest match. This keeps you from getting lonely while not bothering you.

  2. If those mid-match lobby intermission times are too long a cat can keep you company. Just reach a hand over and he will love you to touch his ball-o-fur. Not furry balls. I don't think cats take too kindly to groping of that matter but I can't say I have experience. Never the less a little pet will carry you all the way through your intermission.

  3. Cats don't whine. Well mine doesn't at least. They will not beg for you to pet them and not scratch your door down, or jump on you expecting a treat. They just mind there own business and keep to themselves. Out of all the cats I have owned (1) they have never been as needy as a dog. On the flips side dogs are better overall and more fun but hey, you aren't going to be playing fetch during arma 3 right?

This is probably the biggest waste of space on the nextgenupdate servers possible. But hey, its something I have noticed for quite a while.

EDIT** I have a feeling some of these comments were suggesting I just use my cat for when I am gaming and pet it for 45 seconds every day. That is not the case. I just dont like to wrestle with him on my desk. I give my cat plenty of attention and care for him greatly. Just wanted to make that clear.

cats are cute when they are little but then they like to sit on the computer and shed, and then they are boring when sleeping, i used to not see mine for days at a time

Gaming aside, cats are great companions, but they are beings with feelings, thoughts and needs and therefore should only be adopted if you're going to look after them properly.

I feel obliged to leave that warning here. It's tragic how many people adopt pets that they then abandon, either literally and/or emotionally.

I had a kitten who was cool and playful but then when he grew up he would disappear for days at a time until one day he just never came back..

My cat rocks. Had to take him to the vet this week due to a serious infection,my house doesn't feel the same without him here.

Damn that sucks. Mine was having some kidney issues due to the neighbors lawn getting treated with pesticides (I My cat likes to hunt and run around and chill with the other cats during the day). He was so sick you could see it in his face.

wow. That sucks man. Mine goes out during the day and comes home at night and sleeps here with me but since I have school and work during the day I let him out. Keeps him skinny, gets rid of his energy, and is just generally good for him.

Mine generally stays inside all the time but he does want to go out every now and then, last time he did he was chilling out next to someone elses cat and caught ringworm and ate some kind of weed which basically poisoned him. MY cat acts more like a dog, follows me around everywhere, always wants to be around me when I'm home etc. I could tell by looking at him he wasn't well and he just wanted to be by himself all the time. Hopefully I get to bring the little guy home tomorrow.
