(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys,

I heard something on the radio about this guy that took his girl out for a first date the other night and when they got there, he told his girl he had a groupon and so she was limited to some things on the menu. She was debating of rather she should go on another date with him or not.

So people started to call the radio station and some said yes she should because there's nothing wrong with saving money and a lot of people actually said this one.

Some people said no she shouldn't because if he can't show her that he appreciates her by spending a little extra money on her, then he doesn't deserve her because that just means he's cheap.

So what do you all think? Would you use a Groupon and tell your GF that she could only select certain items on the menu? I wouldn't.

FAQ: What is a groupon?

A groupon is kinda like a coupon, but you go with someone and the restraunt gives you a different menue when you present it to them and your limited to like an antray, drink, and desert and it has to be certain things and you only pay $4-$6.

For a first date, it would be wrong. I would understand and accept if this happened on other dates, but when you meet a girl for the first time, it should be something special for the both of you. There's nothing wrong with having a groupon, but when special days like mothers day, an anniversary, or the first date you'd need to be more classy or gentle with the woman Smile

So basically you're saying even if you're barely scraping by you should fork out 50 quid for a nice evening and put yourself in a hole? 50 quid can cover dinner a weeks worth of food or one night. The girl shouldn't complain if she really likes the guy, but meh I wouldn't use a groupon.

When a person who doesn't have any money and cannot afford a nice dinner then he should take her to a cheaper place where he can afford the menu. If that also isn't a choice then the girl would understand his financial issues and forget that this groupon thing ever happened.

In Flames Much?
Not sure I could do that without feeling harsh.
Saving money, but would not do it on the first date.

I might use it if we where dating or a co-worker or friend of mine where going to go have lunch or something, but I wouldn't use it on my first date with a girl.

If you're under 18 I could understand being cheap and maybe wanting to use groupon/coupons in general. And maybe some college kids that are broke. But the first date is crucial. Some people would say "oh if she's expensive then fuck her." But in all actuality who the hell wants to be with white trash? First couple dates are meant to be expensive. Not to prove you have money, but to show how devoted you are to spending time with her. But at the same time you can do inexpensive things as long as they're unique.

I honestly had never even heard of a groupon until then. I had to find out what it was by just listening in to the show. About mid show the DJ was saying they where getting a lot of tweets about "What is a groupon?" lol

It all depends. If I feel "something" for the chick, then I would want to make a good impression, so I would let her get what she wants. You know, make her feel appreciated.. but as time goes by, that awkwardness goes away and you get more closer to the person. Then groupon would be justified, but not of a first date man, just no.
