(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); No, this isn't some bullshit video about a kid just talking about hating school or whatever much deeper. Just listen to it and tell us your thoughts.

My Thoughts:

I think it is rather interesting it makes you question something that most have never even thought to question but what I think about school is you know it should have more learning of basic life skills just like the video said such as balancing a checkbook and cooking and fixing simple things like a car even using power tools or building. Sure there are elective classes throughout middle school and high school now I didn't do any heavy research on it but just taking an average number of school days in year about 180 days x 7 hours = 1260 hours 1260 hours x 13 years = 16380 total hours in education roughly like do you know how much stuff to do with basic life skills in that amount of time? If you took 500 of those hours of those dedicated to cooking classes each and every person could be a fucking chef just. What about building a house or basic structure to survive? Take 50 of those hours and teach people how to use table saws, and every Power Tool out there. Take a few hundred of those hours and teach kids how to survive in the wild how to live off the land maybe if they got abandoned teach them how to build a fire, shelter, how to eat, how to kill. Now of course some of these things would be taught earlier than others and some later.

Like you cant take an 11 year old and trying to teach him how to survive in the wild that might be for a 16 year old. But anyway just leave below what you thing. I believe we spend to much time sitting in math class and sitting in history class and sitting in Science and all learning stuff that really doesn't prepare us for the "real world" of course I think that everyone should know some basic history, basic math but just like Geometry for example when in the fuck are you going to need how tall that flag pole is and use angles and degrees to figure it out? How many jobs will require that? Lets see Contractors maybe and uhhh yeah about nothing else. We learn things in school that aren't even used in life.

Please try to explain your response and maybe take 5-10 minutes or so actually think about it. Dig deeper than the surface. Try to stay away from responses like "This is dumb." or "Yeah I agree" and try to explain why you think its dumb or why you agree.

School is all about teaching creative young minds to be quite the opposite - just to be drones for the machines. One day I can see that changing but not in my lifetime. Sad.

As you are obviously being sarcastic and might actually have a undiagnosed case of down syndrome you obviously did not get the point of the video. The video was not telling people to drop out or saying school is dumb and we shouldn't have school. It was simply pointing out the problems with not only America's but the Worlds education system in grade school. Kids go in by force not that they shouldn't but it is a thing in every persons life that is required or is punishable and throughout those thirteen years we come out without basic life skills. We come out having to learn other ways how to cook whether that be from a friend a guardian a show or a book we don't learn it in school. Sure we have Home Economics classes but those are electives often taken for only one semester which teach you jack shit except how to read instructions and put something in an oven at most.

I see where you are going, but you have to think... school isn't just about learning how to survive but advancing our civilization as a whole.. they try to teach us everything humans have learned (whether it's relevant or not) to further advance humanity and evolve us into smarter/stronger creatures.

Now I used to mess with psychedelics a lot and I always had crazy theories like this (which could be true) but it's not healthy to think about. Now assume WAYYYY back when everyone was the same and only learned what was needed to survive but then some smart evil genius decided to build a 'school' system which would teach everyone many things and make our children smarter. Now sounds like a good idea huh? well if you really think about it ever since we started school... even as a 1st grader, etc. they could have been teaching us complete bullshit. Shit that is all wrong and completely against naturalistic rules and laws. We are basically zombies and do not even second guess... or even have the slightest question to if the schooling system is wrong. Now as crazy as a theory that sounds... it IS a possibility but definitely not healthy to think about that shit. might as well just bend over and accept it if you don't like it.

I love my kitteh
School is test based. I am bad a test that are written. I usually get a B or C on a test where I know the information. It is not that I am bad at the subject, but that my mind wonders. In an environment that is all tests "You will need to know this for this test and the final test and the state test". Well that is just great. That means that people like me are fucked until we graduate. School does not teach me because I need to know the information, but because I need to know it for a test. School does not teach me much. I often already know the basics of what I am learning when they teach it. When they go in depth, it is all reading and taking notes. That is boring. I need to be excited to really learn and remember it beyond that hour of class. The teachers always say it will be harder the next year. It never gets harder in my experience. ( I will be a junior next year ).
