I got to the counter and told him one ticket for insidious 2 and he told me it was $10.50! After he told me that I still bought it because I was with my friends... but then I went to buy a drink thinking it would be like 3 dollars for a small at the most... A small was $5.00 A medium was 7 and a large with free refills was 10 Then I looked at the popcorn and they were the same prices as the drinks.

On there part there pretty damn smart for saying that you get a refill on the Large drink's/popcorn because almost no one can drink/eat that much.

That;s the only way they make money. The film producer/movie makers make 99.98% of the money generated from the movie they are screening.

I wait for the movie to come out and download it free

I most likely would have did the same, but my friends asked me to go with them.

Not just the movie theaters, go to Six Flags, Mountain trips, Airports... they cost more.

I've never been to an airport

All of the theater's revenue is derived from concession sales. That being said, for those kind of prices I would expect Imax quality.

The theater was a Regal... I was also never aware the they make almost no money from the movie's either.

Ah, that's why it was more than I was expecting. And yeah, my family know someone who manages an Imax, almost all ticket price goes to the studio.
