I defeated!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I think a good portion of us are familiar with the whole "My voice sounds different when I see myself in a video or something" phenomenon. I know how all that works, the problem for me is my voice sounds well, retarded and that is not my personal opinion, it literally does. I love the voice I hear through my flesh and bone. It sounds perfectly normal and great and because of that, I have been given a false feeling of speaking properly. Whenever I talk to people, it is common for people to ask "Why I sound so retarded" or "What is up with your voice?". They won't understand what I am saying and the sort. Does screaming have to do with ultimately having a "retarded" sounding voice that people say I have and I have heard my voice through audio problem... it does have issues with it. I talk slow and slurred and yeah... anyway, did I screw myself over? Or do I need speech therapy to help me "speak properly". I am sick and tired of people mocking my voice and I get the strange feeling that people think I'm mentally handicapped when first meeting me because of whole I speak. Really, I keep getting alot of comments. A kid once told me "I look retarded and I speak wrong". It's been a life problem well here is a couple audio tapes of me speaking I was wondering what you guys thought of it. Like how bad is it and be honest please... Also, is there anything I can do about it?

I think you speak perfectly fine. Voices are supposed to be unique as well, so who cares if someone thinks you sound different? I'll be honest, I've sometimes gotten the feeling where I hated my voice but that's because I used to have an esteem problem and people would mention that it didn't sound right for my gender. To each their own is what I believe. I think that the people who actually take the time to make those comments are just being rude. As my mum and many other mums have said, "They probably don't like themselves/and or something in their own life."

Cause people like to be a bully? In order to hide their own issues.
You sound fine nothing which is super strange about that accent even if you think so.
'So what' is the reply I would do to them and laugh it off. It most likely done to be sort of banter but you have taken it to heart unless they are not your friends to start with.

You speak fine dude, I too went through a point of hating my voice because it sounded "different" but really it was just ego problems of people in my school and my self esteem. People are going to slate others to hide there insecurities and flaws themselves, over 50% of the time when someone is picking on another person its because they have they're own problem and doing that makes them feel better about themselves. Honestly mate your voice is fine haha!
