I was just wanting to get some views on this and a chance to reflect on the character. Some people didn't like Brian due to his cynical nature and atheist views on the world, but at the same time this made him the easiest to relate to.

I personally thought they killed off the best character, I found him the easiest to relate to. He was, despite being a dog, the most human of all characters in the show. He was rational but impulsive at times and showed how people can actually be, most other characters are just there for comical effect which is done very well by the show, but there is a lack of real characters who show actual development.

Was a true shame he is gone. I would like to see though it was a character who hates one of the main ones who killed him, maybe the chicken man? What do you guys think of this?

I can't imagine them keeping him off for long. Maybe after a few episodes, or even a season or two, they will bring him back. Notice the new character, Vinny, his voice actor is listed as a guest star.

I don't think this is the end for Brian. I recall a two-part episode in the earlier seasons where Lois died and she came back the next episode.

As Soolced said, he will come back.
He's credited in the titles of some upcoming episodes on Season 12.

I'd say they'll bring him back. There is kick up all over the internet already

They would have used his name to make sure this didnt leak out till the ep was on TV, Im sure Brians name is Vinny on these eps

I think this is just a way to get people into and talking about family guy again
DC did the same thing by killing off superman. Just wait a bit and Brian will return
