I was just wanting to get some views on this and a chance to reflect on the character. Some people didn't like Brian due to his cynical nature and atheist views on the world, but at the same time this made him the easiest to relate to.

I personally thought they killed off the best character, I found him the easiest to relate to. He was, despite being a dog, the most human of all characters in the show. He was rational but impulsive at times and showed how people can actually be, most other characters are just there for comical effect which is done very well by the show, but there is a lack of real characters who show actual development.

Was a true shame he is gone. I would like to see though it was a character who hates one of the main ones who killed him, maybe the chicken man? What do you guys think of this?

Well, to be fair, I think they did it for the free publicity.
I mean, nobody's spoken about Family Guy this much since... well, forever.
But, if they did just kill off Brian, then what a dick move Seth MacFarlane.

True, Seth does like to mix things up with everyone, Also Stewie said he went into the future, wouldnt he have seen that Brian died ?

Exactly.
Unless Stewie doesn't care about Brian, which I highly doubt as the pair (essentially) made Family Guy.

If they kicked off a main character I would still watch family guy but I would miss brian being in it.

I want Brian back.
