(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Right, so I am 22 years old I have known this girl for 4 years, she's a childhood friend's friend. So we first met 4 years ago and have been friends ever since. We regularly spend time together, watch movies, etc. Anyway, I've had feelings for her for the past year or two and I finally decided I needed to move things forward in the hope of her becoming my girlfriend. So, I rang her up yesterday to come over and watch a film, she agreed. Now this is where the title comes in to play, we're watching a long(ish) film 2hrs (prisoners -- with Jake gyllenhaal; it was actually a good film) anyway, back on topic, half way through I pause the film, look at her in the eyes, while holding both her hands, rubbing her psalms with my thumbs and I say "I've really liked you for a while now, you make me smile, happy; you're amazing I think we should become BF/GF" to my dismay she friendzoned me and says "I only like you as a friend" WTF is this shit? We spend lots of time together etc (maybe that's why.) She's honestly amazing guys :( I need advice?

tl;dr: asked girl to become my gf, she said we're friends, need advice.

There's no way to "solve" this issue.
I mean, her opinion is HER opinion, and unfortunately that's not what you wanted to hear... I mean, it's never nice to hear that (especially if your sitting with her holding her hands)

But, what I would do if I was you is keep being who you were before she said "I like you as a friend" because it shows her that YOUR opinion on her won't change even if her opinion of you does. Be friends with her, don't ignore her or anything... show her that someone will listen to her when she's sad and needs help, and be there for her when she needs you.

In time, things will unfold as it should.
She just needs time to realise what she's missing out on. Smile

There is always rape.. Drack, but joking aside if i was you i would spend less time with her. You must have other friends who you can do the same kinda things with Needa. You cant change her mind in a click but if you spend less time with her then she might notice how much of a part of her life you really are.

Spending less time with her may probably just mean you both start moving in different directions. Not a good option IMO.

+1 what Xmas said

Move on in life. She's not worth beating yourself up over. There are millions of other girls that are out there, you just need to find them.

Yeah, honestly the childhood friend never wins, if you watched anime you'd know that. In fact if you were her brother you'd have had a better chance.

Don't bother asking her out. It comes out naturally. Keep hanging out with her and someday she will want you for her life.
