wrong, Portugal has decriminalized all drugs including narcotics and the usage of the drug and the deaths relating to it has actually gone down.

The reason that cannabis isn't legal is because you can easily grow it at home if you have the right equipment (Which is easily accessible), therefore there is no profit for the government.

They make millions a month from people buying cigarettes, but they wouldn't gain enough to be able to sell it in shops. It has nothing to do with the effect cannabis has on the body.

cannabis is easily taxable with a system of growing and selling tax. Cannabis is California's cash crop and Canada has successfully taxed it to the skies!

I don't understand how you can be taxed for growing it? Maybe if you are distributing it okay, but growing for yourself :p

Growers need licenses which means they pay a fee if they want to grow. People without licenses are treated as illegal distributors and prosecuted

I know a bit of economics, and legalizing them would finish the black market behind it which will lead to a reduction of organized crime, my country (Colombia; yes, cocaine) has "suffered"(maybe not the right word?) decades due to that "Dont legalize" attitude, its been more than 50 years of historical facts, keeping it ilegal is not the solution.

As longs as people keep demanding it, someone will be providing it. Humanity has proved itself to be a junkie for milleniums, so whats the big deal? it has been done ever since and it will be still done.
