(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); A group called PunditFact has a “Truth-O-Meter” which says Bill O’Reilly’s observation that Nelson Mandela was a communist is “correct” but only “mostly true.” How something can be correct but only “mostly true” is not really explained. It is apparently a liberal’s way of saying that Mandela’s communism should be of no special significance and that we should just ignore the fact that the world was deceived about his devotion to communism for several decades.

What is your thought?

Worth the Weight
There's many quotes (the validity can be questioned however) of Mandela projecting his support for Communism as he felt that they were the only group who were concerned for equality of people. There are also pictures of him behind the communist flag with his fist raised.

I don't really know what to say, it's probably not that huge of a secret that the man endorsed communism at one point in time, however I have no idea if he continued to hold those beliefs true throughout the rest of his life.

Well the idea of communism is equality for all no matter what occupation. This seemed like a good idea but it sort of collapsed and was used not as originally idealized. But considering Mandela was wanting equality for the people it's dosent come as a suprise to me that he supported communism and was one. But I never met him, so i can't know for sure.

You need to understand the culture he comes from along with background before you can judge him.
Many African communities during that time had elements of communism in them.
Communism is not a bad idea just poorly done and has a bad name. It works to a point in many communities on a small scale.

Significance person who I think it fair too easy to attack for uniting the world, only a couple have done that.

I support Mandela, this topic was just something for NGU to debate on. I support what you are saying and 100% agree.

Benedict Arnold is the biggest liar. I don't believe he really lied, but he did fuck us.
