According to the Daily Mail, the 14 year old, with a family member, walked into a Rotterdam police station. After some deliberation the Rotterdam Police decided that they did have right to arrest her, though she has not been formally charged yet.

I only hope that kids can look at this incident and realize that in this day in age, everything you say or do on the internet is sitting on a server somewhere, being read by god knows how many people, and with that there is a certain level of responsibility that you have to the content you put out there.

Frankly, to me this just sounds like a Beyond Scared Straight situation. At this point they are just making sure that kids get the message not to do this. At her age, with a good lawyer, she faces not possible jail time, in my opinion. Maybe some community service Sal.

Whats your opinion on the matter? How do you think this will end?

I guess so, because when they said they traced her ip. If she had a VPN it would of changed to a different location...

It depends what device she used to post the tweet. Phone are always traceable, even with mobile vpn. Plus, to be honest, vpn only protects you from minor internet crimes, like cracking. Bottom line, if the FBI wanted to find you, they are going to find you.

Being at age 14 I really doubt they would give her jail time , maybe some community service . But then again she did "jokingly" threaten American Airlines so it'd be interesting to see how it would play out .
