(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello everyone, I'm going to UK (Edinburgh ) this summer 26/6 but first I'm going to step in london for couple of days then in 29/6 I'm heading to Edinburgh, and I'm wondering how to travel from London to Edinburgh by a train because I have never travelled by a train before and shall I book earlier ? Or it won't be necessary? I appreciate ur help.
Thx in advance.

I live in the UK and south but not London.
You travel from any station but certain lines require you to switch. So yes just add time to your travel time sometimes it's cheaper to go from certain stations. Depends on what you buy for what station you leave from.
The route you're going from is a main route used by business class so should be able to pick up from one of the main stations in london.

Kings Cross is the main station for trains heading to the North, you will most likely be using that station either way. It's a pretty small station well I think it has around 16 platforms, It's been a while since I last used it and is about 5 minutes walk away from St Pancras international station which is where a lot of the highspeed train services and channel tunnel services depart from. If you need to get to any of the main stations in London like Waterloo or Victoria, it's easy, just use the underground.
