Plants / trees would die (you know they kinda need that sunlight) without those we have no oxygen. Once those start to die off livestock can't eat (you know cows and such eat grass and stuff of that sort (but they would probably be dead anyways because you know no heat)).

So yea we'd be dead.

On Earth, all 7 billion of us inhale about 6 trillion kilos of air every year, you would think thats alot until you realize that the atmosphere has 1 Quintilian kilos of oxygen for us to breath. Now if we did the math we would have enough oxygen to survive for 166,667 Years. So unless we moved all livestock and most of our people into Iceland or Yellowstone, we could still have a chance, there are also such things as Nuclear powered heating systems which could also keep us heated, and whos not to say that since the sun is gone, the Earth isnt orbiting anything, so its just floating though space, who says that sooner or later, the Earth wont just fall into orbit of another star, causing it to thaw and we could all go back to our normal living habits.

Firstly only the elite and the rich will be allowed to join these safe havens you mention, there's no way the average person would be capable or allowed to live their. Also I think your forgetting the fact this is the human race we are talking about, if the sun vanished the earth will most likely descend into complete anarchy within 48 hours to a week. Food supplies would soon diminish and people would start to starve if they haven't been killed from desperate looters already. Soon afterwards as temperatures plummet the rest of population would likely die out leaving only those could afford into these geo thermal sanctuaries to remain alive until of cause they eventually die out from food shortage or diseases. Oh and I'd say falling into the exact right orbit of another star to sustain life is extremely unlikely (that's probably a huge understatement)

Orbit depends on size of the star and planet, the exact right orbit would come on its own due to the size of the Earth, its not as hard as you think. I understand the rich and poor thing, but only some people would know what to do in this type of situation. And those are the people that would survive, We could live on the bottom of the ocean, all teh ice that would be created would be great insulation, and they are also warmed by vents on the bottom of the ocean that spew water that is super heated by Earths core, although this may work you would need the correct equipment to do this

Without sunlight, we would surely die. Not only because of food, but because of energy. This world runs on the sun one way or the other.

All we would lose is solar energy, and mostly only the rich have that, so they wouldnt have a problem getting someone to find "energy" for their home

all i got from that is that you know nothing about how gravity, any type of phyics, and common sense work

oribit is not based on planet size, its where an object happens to be pulled into the gravity of the sun. the earth could get sucked into orbit but have an orbit of 1000 earth years as it flies around the new start like a comet along with the notion of these submarines, you telling me there will be a constant food supply long enough to last years without ever comming to the surface? you people just need to understand that no matter what was done by humans, we would all die very shortly after the sun dissapeared. none of you even mentioned the fact that the earth would instantly flood because the ocean would only have the moon pulling it, that is if it hasnt been knocked out of orbit from the crazy shit the earth would be doing. so instant floods would kill off everyone except people living in the mountains, already in boats/subs so good luck to all the few thousand survivors
