I'm a huge metal fan. And it usually depends on what kind of environment you grew up in. I was raised in metal and started listening to "Screamo". It is what kind of person you are. I am a quiet person and I can retaliate to the lyrics that's why I like this genre of music. Some people don't listen to lyrics just to the "screaming" (by the way it's actually growling for your information). It's not half bad when you listen to the lyrics and just submerge yourself into the music. The band's I listen to are "mainstream". Sleeping With Sirens, Bring Me The Horizon, Pierce The Veil,& Black Veil Brides. Everyone is into different music grew up differently.

Goth is usually people who wear a lot of black depending on what social media says. But usually people refer to it as "Emo" and it doesn't show pain it's lyrics that people can retaliate to so we don't feel alone

You listen to metalcore and it more core then metal. I'm talking about proper metal, death black sludge and doom and power not the variants of hardcore which would be metalcore hardcore and death core which are popular because the fashion trend that accompanies it
