(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); EXCOMMUNICATION

For whom don't know what this is? off the top off my head it is when the Pope (or leader of The Catholic Church) permanentely OR temporarely(sp) ban a certain person from the church (they have to be a member of the church to be excommunicated). I learned that once excommunicated i any other member of the church are aloud to kill you with NO consequences(sp).They will also be forgiven by the church for doing so.
What's more this law is STILL in place TODAY! Eek:mad:

There is more preffered, detailed and correct information here; You must login or register to view this content.

There is also a list of people whon have been/are excommunicated here; You must login or register to view this content. With I think Robert The Bruce being the most known.

For exocomunication to be a problem, they'd have to still do it today, And i don't see murder legal around the civilized world. The church aren't above the law, so even if someone does act on the person, proper legal action would follow.

Yes but law does state this act still be in place and there's has been NO changes to this. Back when this punishment was more used there was no legal action taken either. Might not be above the law but c'mon ITS THE FREAKING POPE.

The pope still goes to jail if he does something illegal; he is not, nor is any other religious figure, above the law. Thankfully we haven't reached such a decline in intelligence that the church governs the government.

Exactly. It is unbelievable they were above the law and could do this sorry shit. And you still dont see the separation of church and state. You know that "under god" in the pledge of allegiance(US) was enacted in the 1950s? Its a shame.

There are plenty of old laws still on the books not enforced any more. It's still illegal in some states to spit in the street.

Seeing as i'm not from America I obviously don't use words like you's do. So my question is, what is "Jay-walking?" Heard it on Family Guy...
