In Flames Much?
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Panel of scientists have been looking at ways to reduce obesity and overweightness in Americans.
Unpublished research shows medical expenses, reduced productivity, wider gender and income inequality and even higher transportation costs have links with this shift in demographics.
Medical expenses for the extremely overweight have skyrocketed.
Now appears that not just individual’s well-being suffering but significant economic costs associated with this change.

With 2/3 of Americans are now overweight with 1/3 being classed as obese, the panel was set up to see the consequences of this demographic change and what could be done.
The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee last month recommended increase taxes on sugary drinks and foods to reduce consumption. Revenue used subsidize or promote healthier behavior.

Insurance based health care system means leaner people are now subsidizing fat people. Now calls for serious intervention which go beyond normal policy measures to solve this crisis.
Shift in spending towards health care could suck demand out of the economy resulting in less investment.

So far people are holding down the economy in the jobs they can and how much they do.

I still recommend people stay away from trans fat or anything that is "hydrogenated." Sat. and Unsta. fat is fair game in my opinion. Personally I consume a lot of carbohydrates, but I also spend the majority of my time in the gym making gains so I need the all carbs I can get lol.

who the fuck really cares about fat fucks in US? if we are talking about wasting money we should not be pointing fingers at the americans. Americans have a strong military and one of the best in my opinion. Canada has not actively been in war since the last world war, yeah they are participating in war against ISIS but we barely had any other option. Canada spends more than 50% of their budget in investing on stronger military/police power. Country with such low crime rate should really get their budget straight ffs.

I manage a fast food restaurant. I've worked at chickfila for years while going to school. For those who are unfamiliar with chickfila, we specialize in fried chicken!
I'm also processing into the Air Force right now and they told me that a man 21 years of age that is 6'5 and 195lb is someone with an athletic build. Granted I have almost 28% water weight I'm in excellent shape. Going to college and working around fried chicken for several years...I've had my share of it.
Personally I think portions aren't stressed enough for younger kids to develop heathy habits at a young age.
Tbh I'm rambling and lost my point. Sal

If the US government are looking into wasted money, I'm sure there are thousands of other ways they can cut back instead of picking on fat people..

Just my 2 cents Smile

People who are obese due to a medical condition are the exception rather than the rule. Regardless of who you are, it all comes down to caloric intake. If you consume more calories than you burn, you will gain weight. No one is exempt from the first law of thermodynamics.
