When I was a kid, I played Gameboy Color/Gameboy (I've always wanted a Gameboy Advanced, but oh wells...), and my PSOne (Can't beat Spyro!) I had Dexter's Laboratory, the three Spyro games, the four Crash Bandicoot games (My friends and I would play CTR for hours!! Never played it? You missed out. Too bad "couch" co-op is basically dead, with the emergence of online co-op. I had Tomb Raider, but the wolves killed me, and I never really cared for her games till now :p I had Blato (Good game, tricky platforms), and GEX 3 (Sucks, but w/e)
When I was about 10, I got a PS2. All I remember playing is God of War and Prince of Persia, and my PS1 games. I guess this was my step-up to more mature titles. I just remember how much PS1 and PS2 would show up the error screen (no disc inserted or w/e) :/
2011, I got my PS3. It is currently my OFW. The first game I got for it would be Midnight Club: Los Angeles (sucks), God of War 3 (Wanted forever, main reason I got PS3), Black Ops 1, and Arkham Asylum (Fucking love the series). All I use the OFW for is playing pirated movies, or once in a blue moon, playing legit zombies to get my stats higher. This would be my step up to FPS (Black Ops 1 being my first CoD -- never heard of Call of Duty whilst on PS2, definitely heard of SOCOM and MAG), parkour (Tomb Raider -- love it!), emotional and intriguing storyline (The Last of Us), glitches (Black Ops Zombies), etc. With the PS1, I played for fun, and barely understood the games' storylines. With PS2, the "couch" co-op was fading away, bringing about solo gaming. PS3, I gained some love for glitches (literally, the first zombie game I played was "Five" with somebody doing the window glitch to get out of map) and modding. :/ I play more now than I ever did when I was younger. There's just a more expansive library of games to play (Portal 2, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Call of Duty, etc.)
As for PC, I would play those kiddie games from discs, long before Steam came about. Services like GameSpy. Or I'd just play online. I had the Lion King game for PC, among others. I heavily preferred online games, like Batman Beyond Evolution of Evil, etc. That being said, even if I wanted to play PC games, my laptop could only play games like Team Fortress 2. It's not worth the effort to raise thousands of dollars for PC games, just to have to keep upgrading. I've been with Sony since I was little, and I doubt I'll ever move to PC, unless somebody's going to buy me an Alienware computer. :p Unlike Toke, some of us aren't 'ballin' with money. I can't even afford a PS4, much less a decent gaming computer, xD.
I know how it is when it comes to money and buying expensive games. Not everybody had $1500 to spend on a gaming PC or something like that.

As a kid I played Spyro and Crash Bandicoot, through my young teenage years the defining game for me was GTA VC, older teenage years 16 - 18 I moved onto CoD and played that a lot.
Now the only games I play are Fallout, S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Dark Souls and not that frequently to be honest, I find most games boring or just can't be bothered to start playing something new.
I played the shit out of Crash lol. I hated the batman games, but loved the movies. lol.
