As for price, I understand it can feel like a big bit of money, i felt it myself when i got my PC. If you put it into this perspective the investment may seem better (maybe not in your case as you just bought a new laptop). A PC can be used as a normal desktop or for gaming from. In this sense, it's a 'game console' and 'laptop' put into one machine. When you add the prices of these together, the price of the PC seems more understandable.
As for the hardware side I understand it can be daunting if you have little to no knowledge about computers. As much as people dislike, you can always get a pre-built machines. You could also ask a friend to build it or possibly learn yourself! (tons of resources available online). Websites like reddit and youtube provide a lot of help. Members on NGU will be willing to help if you ask.
I just want to make it clear, I'm not trying to talk you into getting a PC, just having a discussion
I can almost remember you shit talking the pc master race not so long ago :/
But just so I dont look like I spam:
Here's some of questions that may help with the discussion:
Are you not interested in playing PC?
Are your worried about the cost?
Do you dislike using a controller?
Do your friends use one platform more?
1. I've always been a pc gamer. We got the first family PC when I was 5 and I remember going through all the DOS bullshit just to play a game.
2. I am more or less worried when something eventually dies. It happens but that's why you buy based on good brands that have good warrenties. But other than that, I didn't really spare when I built this machine.
3.Nope. I use my PS2 and 360 controller.
4.Ironically whenever a new console comes out we do pick them up play them when a certain game comes out but other than that all PC.
I was more of a console gamer growing up just because money was tight as a kid there was just one computer. So I mainly stuck with my PS2. Most of the friends I met on there all migrated to PC soon after socom 3/CA and that's pretty much where we play at now.
