(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey all, are there any music producers on here? And if so, what genres do you produce? How long have you been producing for? What program do you use? Smile

I'm a producer and I mainly make Melbourne Bounce (which is a sub genre of Electrohouse), but I've been trying to experiment with some other stuff for an alias, so I'm trying to make some chilled stuff like Flume or Chet Faker. I've been producing this type of music for like 2 and a half years but I was producing hip hop beats for a while before that. I use FL Studio but I know how to use Ableton, Reason & Garageband Smile

Let's hear some of your stuff!
I have FL but I don't use it too much.
I've recently wanted to because I picked up the guitar and want to make some songs... I also play the piano so I wanna get something solid going. I was trying to make a song with the piano, guitar and using FL for the bass, but I have an electric guitar and it's pretty hard to get a good quality of sound with it unplugged and when it is plugged into an amp, it's too loud. But I'm getting an acoustic guitar soon so hopefully I can complete my song then.
FL is fun to fool around with, making music (any type of way) is just fun in general.

If you know music theory and you play an instrument it can definitely help, but you can still do it without knowing it Smile Have you looked into different setups for the guitar? You might be able to get an audio interface to plug it into, which connects to your computer. Then you can apply an amp plugin like guitar rig to make it distorted Smile

I've used it a little bit. The thing I like about it though is that you can import random documents and you can get some nice glitch sounds Smile

I was like that at the start but eventually wanted to create my own beats to rap over. If you're serious about rapping then give it a try Smile

Definitely sounds like a good idea, I always had some ideas for beats that I could rap over but never really got into that sort of thing. Might actually give it a try.

Sounds good Smile Here's a couple of suggestions to get started with. Firstly, pick a program to use; FL Studio & Ableton are both great. It might take a little while to get used to but both are used by lots of producers. Download some free soundfonts and sample packs. You'll probably want some free packs for hip hop, trap and ambient music. You can find them on heaps of music forums and blogs. You'll also want some plugins. There are heaps out there that you can choose from, both free and paid Smile
