Twenty years ago, the original PlayStation hit shelves in the US.
By today's standards, it was woefully underpowered - games had to make do with just two megabytes of memory (by comparison, today's smartphones have about a thousand times more) and a 33Mhz processor.
But the console - which cost an eye-watering $1100 when adjusted to today's prices - introduced games on CD, along with controllers that had dual joysticks and rumbled to provide tactile feedback.
To celebrate, the gamers at Sony have dug an original PlayStation out of the archives and given it an unboxing. Watch the proceedings lol.
You mean Crash right? I don't remember seeing spyro as a physical mascot.
I like Spyro better. And after how much they've butchered the Spyro series since Insomniac stopped developing it, I feel it's only right to remaster one of the best childhood games.

I meant that as they actually had Crash as person in a costume at events and stuff.
I never had a Playstation, but I did get a Playstation One (the much smaller version). I need to bring it out for a bit, just to have some fun. Go back and replay spyro

I did a tournament when I was young, around 1999 and they had a Crash mascot that was at the event. I can confirm that I've personally never seen a Spyro mascot.

Officially, Crash is Sony's mascot, just as much as Kratos. But he's nothing compared to Spyro I can't tell you how many times I get killed by that damned boulder on Crash Bandicoot, or the races on Warped...but CTR was bae. But I loved every part of Spyro except the gliding trials.
