I use to hate watching horror movies. I would literally find myself incapable of sleeping at night or doing much of anything because of how terrified I was. Nowadays I can watch horror movies and not be afraid. I reckon it has something to do with predictability of most movies now. What's funny is that my sister is terrified of Child's Play. Whereas I view it almost as if it were a dark comedy. I guess I might be messed up psychologically.
You ever see the movie paranormal activity ? I really hate that movie because it make stuff in real life feel like it can just happen anywhere and anytime it wants.

You need to watch them on your own with headphones in the dark with volume set mid/high to feel get scared as a grown person.
I don't really find them scary either way. It's more of a comedy to me. I don't avoid them like I used to.
