In the UK we have different classes of jails.
Class A being the top.

I have letters from when my Dad was in jail, he was put into class A not because he's dangerous or anything but because back when he was inside, jails were pretty full.
From reading the letters he sent my Mum, its horrible to say the least.

In my experience it's not too bad at all especially booking. Of course, I wasn't the one being arrested. Nor was I the one doing the arresting. I was just being an observer.
