We would have NO military if the Army was never formed. There would be no Air Force. I have YET to see the Chair Force to do any form of sweating in there PT. We have PT at 530am. We finish around 7. The Air Force just gets to the field around 7 to do there "daily" march. Haha they march to "hut hut hut..." Thats all. No cadince or anything. The army and marines is what actually fights and dies. The marines do more because they have to always be moving because they dont have the numbers like the army does. The marines wouldnt be what they are today if it wasnt for the army. The marines use our infantry handbook, ranger training in basic, tanker school, artillery school, use our equipment etc. I like the marines but most of them are dicks. Ive met some cool ones but there are very few.
America doesn't even need a Marine Corps, they just want one.
I personally dislike the Air Force. They should still be tied with the Army and go though the same shit that Army Officers go through, as there have been way to many A-10 friendly ****ing Army and Marine guys on the ground. I was talking to an Army officer and he said he would much rather have a Marine jet do an airstrike because they fly low, know infantry tactics, aren't afraid of getting shot down, and it will hit just about everytime. He said the Air Force flew too high and you had no idea if their airstike would land in where he called. He was almost killed by an Air Force airstrike.
If the Army would renovate their uniforms, make boot camp as hard and as long as Marines, and just changed the current view on the Army I think it would get more respect then it does now.
What made me want to join the Marines is the mindset, mission and mottos they go by. Enlisted Army recruiters told me all the benefits I could get out of joining the Army, and the enlisted Marine recruiter said "we dont promise you a rose garden." The Army Officer recruiter told me about ROTC and how it can pay for college. The Marine Officer recruiter told me few can be Marines, and even fewer can lead them. I just like the mindset of the Marine Corps.
