The Army Officer recruiter told me about ROTC and how it can pay for college. The Marine Officer recruiter told me few can be Marines, and even fewer can lead them. I just like the mindset of the Marine Corps.

I have never understood why America has so many branches in the military. You guys seem to have shit loads compared to Britain. We have different names such as Royal Marine Commandos, Paras, Navy, RAF and so one, but they all do the same job near enough. You guys seem to have special forces everywhere. That could just be to me with not being American and not knowing about their military very well, but don't you have like Delta, Green berets, Tier 1 and all that shit as specials with each one being more special than the other? We have like the SAS, SBS, SRR and SFSG as the main Special, secret forces. Then we have the elites like Royal Marine Commandos, The Parachute Regiment, RAF / AAC / Fleet Air Arm Special Forces Flights, RAF regiment and Elite Royal Artillery Units. Although, saying Elite sounds like they are better than the special forces :S.
I also have to agree on your Air Force being shit. Many times we have had men die by an American air strike, or that the air strike hit the wrong co-ordinates and almost killed our men.

Nobody is satisfied with being a grunt. Everybody wants to be a special ops shitbird, and be better than everyone else. Therefore, each branch makes "special forces" which I think is gay. They should have a Teir 1 USSOCOM that everybody with 4 years in the military can try out for, **** this special ops shit everywhere. The USMC tries to stay away from "special forces" and the Army gloats it. I guess thats why nobody wants to be an average Army grunt.

They technically have different missions. Green Berets train foreign armies for guerrilla missions, Delta is hostage rescue and Direct action, and so are the SEALs but they use water entries and water to their advantage. Then you have PJs who rescue downed pilots. USMC has Force Recon but is being disbanded.

I'm sure every Air Force is shit in a sense, I think they should go through the same training that grunts on the ground go through instead of being a ****ing airhead

In war time there is going to be a much higher casualty rate in the Navy than in the Air Force. Only the pilots/navigators will die in the Air Force(less than 1% of the Air Force), along with PJs and FAC's but that is less than 2% of the Air Force. Most of the Air Force is logistics, etc to get the planes in the air, hence the nickname the Chair Force
Take it this way: a ship in the Navy can sink in the middle of the ocean with sharks. Whats the worst that can happen to the Air Force other than its pilots? Being air striked or invaded on base, which I doubt would ever happen.
