I thought this would be a great discussion thread because there are a variety of stances and viewpoints individuals may have on here as this is a global forum with people of all races and colors. Essentially the topic is, how do you feel about these Black Lives and Blue Lives Matter movements? I'll drop my opinion on it below and then you guys can address whatever issues you want with it and whatever comes across your mind.*
My opinion: To put it blatantly, I can't stand this black lives matter bullshit. The Black Lives Matter is an opportunistic movement that only speaks or lashes out when it is in their best interest to. The best example of this is the recent Florida shooting where a black suspect shot and killed a Black female police officer with a husband and two kids. There was no message being spread by #BlackLivesMatter.. they could care less because there was no advantageous opportunity for them to lash out like they do when a white person is involved. Subsequently, the majority of these black lives matter cases are simple cases where the fucking idiot that was killed could and should have listened and not have escalated the situation worse than it needed to be. Although I will say that there are some bad apples out there in the officer community, I believe that 99% of police officers are going out there with positive intent to try and help their communities. I also am getting tired of seeing these hardworking men and women who are willing to put their lives out on the line every day for us citizens be treated and looked down upon as shit. No one ever forced them to join this line of work and most of them do become policemen and women because they went to set out and make a positive impact. I hope the media also stop perpetuating and spinning news stories to make them look bad in order for them to get publicity.*
To sum it up, I believe cops are being treated horribly in our country at this time and I feel like the black lives matter movement is only separating races in the US further apart. *
BlackLivesMatter doesn't even stand for anything. There's no set goal in mind besides internal terrorism from America's own citizens. You've seen the race riots in Baltimore and Ferguson, and at the end of the day, the violence is terrorism, plain and simple (but the U.S. government only sees terrorist groups as threats if they are from outside the U.S.)
Terrorism's definition: the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
And yet, would this not apply to hate groups such as KKK or Westboro? Are there corrupt cops? Sure, there's corrupt people in any line of profession (but more so politicians and executives), and these people get paid shit considering every day they go to work, they could be killed by a gangmember, have his home destroyed by a drive-by, be threatened and sued for racial discrimination -- to the point where many officers are scared to even life up their guns in avoidance of being racist. BLM is a means of deflecting from real and important issues affecting this country, and to help promote political agendas of the right-wing, namely Trump. If you keep bringing up evidence and footage of a minority acting violently or crudely, it only helps like-minded people to push for your desires. If all people ever hear about and see if the BLM, especially in areas with low black population, then they're more willing to push for the disenfranchising of that particular minority's rights.
What pisses me off about BLM is that when a black-on-white crime happens, the leaders of the "movement" do not see it as racially provoked. Many of us heard about the mentally-challenged man in Chicago who was tortured by four deplorable people, because of the color (or lack of color) of his skin and his political stance. This man more than likely didn't understand that he had voted in a racist, sexist bigot in the first place, the leaders of BLM among others didn't see this event as racially or politically motivated -- but the moment a cop prevents a black man from shooting a group of people, it's considered racism. In my opinion, BLM is a disgrace to what MLK went through to gain equality.
tl;dr the group is a terrorist affiliation, meant to deflect from real issues, leads to even more racism and disenfranchising towards blacks, and prevents police from being readily effective.
When you have violent rallies, kill police officers, only believe in black power, it causes harm to the minorities that actually want equality, and it doesn't help that what equality we have achieved over the decades will slowly fall away within the next 8 years of presidency.
