(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I would like to start by saying I am not trying to be ignorant, or cold, I understand the devistation and loss of life in Haiti. If you have family there then I am very sorry for all of them. But how is what happened in Haiti more important to our govt then the victims of Katrina. I go to New Orleans alot and there are still houses with the number of dead paitned on the door. Our govt let people die in the sun on Interstate 90 just outside the Superdome waiting on aid. But we can get a ship (Red Cross "Comfort") with 500 nurses and doctors aboard to them in two days? Makes no sense to me. I know the US wants to be the "Big Brother" to every country so that we always have allies, but I find this distressing. WE have children not getting three meals a day, not going to school, being raised by "mom" because dad is either in another country fighting a war, or was killed there. Once agian I know people will flame me for this, but is my opinion.

eDeityy, you are typing more things so it appears you know more. You are copying and pasting things because there is no way you remember all these peoples names. You're obviously a Muslim Obama lover, there is no arguing with you people. Enjoy your economic decline in the next few years and your record debt we already have because of him. Enjoy your next 4 years!

I have a question have any of you heard of the earth quick that happened in American Samoa? No? well that is because there was no relief effort or attempt to them, yet we are provided to much support to a country that isn't even under apart of U.S. The earth quick in American Samoa was just about the same as the one haiti suffered, and cause the same destruction yet we saw no news reports, relief efforts, or fundraisers for them and they are apart of the U.S.

Erm.. Anwar al-Awlaki is the only name I had to look up for spelling purposes only. You've never heard of a History class, have you?

Last time I checked, I was presenting facts and you were presenting recycled Republican fallacies to counter those facts.

That's cute.

Global economic decline has nothing to do with Obama's administration. Look at the entirety of the world's markets - not too great, eh?

Yeah, that stupid chimp sure did us good. I'm talking about Bush, that's who you meant, right? I mean, God forbid Bush adds You must login or register to view this content. in his eight years of presidency out of a $200 billion surplus from Clinton.

Here's a cartoon, maybe you'll rethink your political views:

What facts? Oh yea, things that have nothing to do with this conversation.

I don't have nothing to say about this...

As of today, it’s $10.8-trillion. The administration projects it’ll climb to $14-trillion next year and in 2013 wind up at $17.1-trillion dollars – very close to matching the size of the entire economy as measured by the projected Gross Domestic Product. And taxpayers will be paying hundreds of billions in interest on the debt each year.

You forgot to add Obama is down $700 bullion within his first year of presidency. Bailing out companies that didnt deserve my hard earned tax money. Democrats spend tax money like its no tomorrow and try to get involved in everything, only making situations worse. For example, inflation, price floors, etc.

Daddy's home.
Well lets clear one thing up first. The WORLD ISN'T AMERICA. Got that one?...good.
Britain, France, Canada and so on are also helping out, not just America. I seriously have no idea what half of you Americans get told at school or on the T.V.
Back on topic, I also have no idea why there is a massive commotion over Haiti for. I mean, yeah they are a poor country who's government didn't do much to help them and yeah aid is needed for them to help look for survivors, help the injured and give them food. The aid is necessary indeed. But is all the news coverage needed? It was one of the most destructive earthquakes of all time with the death toll in the hundreds of thousands which might say something, but even still I can't remember this much aid for anything else.

The Katrina failure was a prime example of how nothing is actually accomplished in gov't work. No one wants to take responsiblity for anything within the divisions of gov't here in the US.

Haiti relies on other developed nations for their entire economy. If the US and other countries don't step up to help, they won't have anything. US aid and private aid is what a responsible nation does IMO.

Obama camp is using this to earn political brownie points as I would expect any other politician to do regardless of which side of the isle they reside on.

I'm a republican, but I am also human. ALL nations and people need to step up to help out those less fortunate in a time of crisis. However don't forget that oodles of your tax dollars has already gone to countries like Haiti over the past few decades and beyond.
