This is working for Social Club and Steam versions.



- Cheat Engine
- Be in a crew (If you want to change Crew Tag)



- Open Cheat Engine
- Attach to GTA5 Process
- Change Value Type to String
- Search for your In-Game Name(Type it exactly as it appears in-game, case sensitive.)
- Click on one of the results, and then hold down CTRL+A. (Select all results.)
- Click the red arrow to move all results into the bottom box.
- Click one of them in the bottom box, and then once again, CTRL+A.
- Hold down CTRL and double click on one of the values.
- Change it to whatever you like.

To change crew tag, you must first be in a crew, then follow the same instructions as above, replacing your In-Game name, with your crew tag.

You can add the Rockstar Logo to your crew tag, by adding an "@" symbol to the front of it!

I can only assume it was this, I don't use any mods though.

So is Rockstar detecting Cheat Engine, or is it because you used Cheat Engine for other stuff? such as selling cars etc.?

It's other stuff, or because they had scripthook/other dll's in their folder.

All these people being amazed how CE is able to modify GTA V yet i have been using it for years to execute lua scripts to modify games, it can do way more than just flash games..
