Gotten Gains was first teased by Rockstar back in May. While this update will be available on all five platforms GTA 5 is on, it could be one of the last updates to arrive on Xbox 360 and PS3. During a Q&A session last month, Rockstar noted hardware limitations could prevent future content from arriving on the Xbox 360 and PS3. The first example of such is the Rockstar Editor which is only set to arrive on Xbox One and PS4.

Sad day when the updates stop

I could be wrong but theres 2 updates left, if you go to the gun shop u will see theres a couple more spaces left with hangers there. Its just a educated guess lol

Just like most games it will probably be abandoned

GTA Will be Boring without updates😢

The GTA V updates are getting better, coming with new features, especially back when heists came out, that was huge for us. That's when Rockstar basically proved that the game would be fun again, but it also shows how far Rockstar North is going with these updates. Sooner or later, the updates will exceed our hardware limitations, and GTA V Online will just be a dull, violent version of Sims for PS3 and Xbox 360, while next gen and PC are getting all the support, but I know that this is not the last update. I think Ill-Gotten Gains Part 2 will be the last update for PS3 and Xbox 360. We shouldn't worry though because the people here who still only have PS3's or Xbox 360's will move on to next gen eventually, or just move to PC. And with our remaining time, we could mod our GTA Online characters, and prepare for our upgrade! That's one bright side.
