In a dramatic breakthrough, scientists have learned how to use optical fiber to transmit data over a single laser at speeds that dwarf even today's fastest Internet connections.

This could be a great breakthrough for the internet community. Imaging having that type of internet speed, most people have what, 2 MB/s? Thats not even a Gigabyte.

Such bandwidth would enable an Internet user to download the entire library of congress in about 10 seconds, according to the BBC.

Oh and just a final note they said, "Already a 100 terabits per second experiment has been demonstrated,"

What else could come from this?

Websites have limits... It would not be possible to download over what their server's maximum. So in reality, you could only get a max of what? 100-1000MB/s.

Shit, I'd be happy with a GB speed, even less, my current one is under a MB :p
