This is at prime time 3am, no one else on the internet and hardly anyone using in UK. its normally half this.
Basically i live in a area where there is no broadband, so i get my internet through my landline. And i'm paying virgin media double what people pay for x10 even x20 times my connection.

Now i'm on the top internet package with virgin, and it shows i should be getting 20megs, but i can;t because no broadband near me.. but why can't i downgrade my package down to the cheapest one? won't i still get the same connection at a lower price i rang them and asked and they said its not a valid reason to downgrade. lol.

Usually I get around 5mb connection when my grandmother isn't using her livestreaming, which she is now.

Well at least I get 100% unlimited for $30.00 no questions asked. They don't even care if I download torrents. I think this is enough for me. =D

Ok that isn't weird?

Is that broadband?

It's DSL. Not sure if that is the same as broadband. But I'm pretty sure that Broadband means it's faster than dial-up, so yeah I guess so.

Did you not check online rough estimate for what you could get ?
Should have not signed up for a package you can't get
Btw your on broadband just it quite slow compared to the UK average.
Sadly........your in a bad spot because of where you live , good news ish are plans to close the gap.

I can only get 4.5Mb on my line no matter how much i pay that can't change. Unless they redo the wires and and exchange moves closer to me.

Btw it a vaild reason to downgrade if they did not warn you that you could only get so much speed out of your package

Change to a lower package or threat to go trading standards for not warning you Winky Winky

Phone trading standards or something my connections pretty shit infact I think it's worse than yours mine peaks at about 1.3Mb/s but I stay with the the top packge for the unlimited download limit even with a shit connection I use to go over the limit each month.

If you life in a kind of rural area then you are only get as much as your line can handle. You're probably quite from away from the local telephone exchange. Changing broadband suppliers isn't going to help anything, it'll be the exact same. Count yourself lucky, I have slower.
