(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys well last night I downloaded Hotspot Shield a VPN to block my IP. When I did that, i turned it on and made a twitter account and posted a girls nude on it. (LAST NIGHT) Today i went to school and evrryone is talking about how the person is going to get caught and how theyre gonna be scrwed and how everyone is gonna hate that person. Well i relly donnt want that to happen. Can the school possibly track me down even though I was using a VPN? Quick help me im really scared!

The school cannot do anything, Twitter won't do anything either. You won't get caught, just don't do anything stupid like tell them it was you.

There are a few circumstances:

1. If its a girl from the school, they make take legal action and go as far enough as to get a subpoena to twitter for the IP.
2. If its a random girl no.

1a. If they get a subpoena and it was on the school's network, yes you probably will get caught. The IP will show Hot Spot Shield and by doing that hopefully anyone with a forensics degree can go back into the school's network and see who connected to HSS and the computer that was using it at the time.
1b. If it wasn't the school's network theres a chance but its not likely.

They won't find you, but like Sheldon stated before, don't do something stupid like tell everyone you did it, no one will find about it.

They wouldn't make a legal action to get the IP. This isn't a mass child pornography ring, this stuff happens every 10 minutes on the internet. The only way anything would be pursuit is if the girls parents get involved but I doubt that'll happen. Quit worrying and it'll blow over in a few days.

There is a chance but not much.
Here is what would have to happen.

Girl's Family/School would Subpoena twitter for the IP -> Hire forensics detective -> He would see HSS IP -> Would probably need another subpoena -> HSS has a 99% chance of giving you up -> Will get your home IP -> Probably have to subpoena ISP or contact ISP -> get your home address -> report it to the school.

Though, going to 3 subpoena's for a naked picture is highly unlikely but possible.

@SC I know its highly unlikely but you never know I'm just giving the worst case scenario so that 99% of the time something better will result.

Is there anything I can do to keep myself on the safe side? Like change me IP? And my HSS is still running can I turn it off?
