I'm not sure Sony will care about trophy cheaters because it means people are buying games. They also don't do any sort of rewards or have a ranking/leaderboard system either so cheaters aren't abusing any Sony service. PSNprofiles and YourGamerCard pretty much focus on this sort of stuff (with PSNprofiles going even further with rarity and listings for important milestones) so they've got a vested interest in keeping cheaters off the board.

But CFW makes hacking much more common, easier to notice and ultimately much more abusive because you can hack almost everything. CFW is really just more harmful.

This is what we thought back in the old days of XBL. Actually MS made more money and continues to make more money with banwaves and resets as people start over and generate more revenue for them.
Neither console has any leaderboard (all 3rd party external) and neither the 360 or the PS3 has any rewards for gaining achievements or trophies. The only rewards MS has is a MSP bonus for renewing or buying stuff. This is similar to what PSN had recently. TBH the XBL rewards are so fkin pathetic that for being on Live for 9 years and for being one of the 1st 50 to get on XBL they gave me 200 MSP and a crappy Tshirt avatar item.
Sony is still a very Japanese company and here people frown upon any sort of cheating. There has been a lot of backlash from the gamers here about the hacking incident and cfw hacks which was brought up again at the Asia Game Show in Hong Kong 3 days ago when the Sony CEO was interviewed by the media and put in an embarrassing "Loss of Face" situation when he was unable to come up with an answer. The company is not doing that well here of late and there are rumors that some of their "Western" staff might be replaced with Japanese. Its going to be an interesting year ahead so lets see what happens.

No, look on the rules on that site. Saved games to get trophies or shared accounts aren't consider banable. Look: You must login or register to view this content. Personally, this doesn't bother me, but I can see why it would for some folks for the sake of competition.
