More requests that I've done, not too thrilled with the first two, but the stocks were absolutely crap (no digital artist in his or her right mind would have chosen them to use). But the last one (the tag and the avvy) I really like. =)

ANY AND ALL TAGS BELOW THIS POINT ARE NOT FOR CRITIQUE, THEY ARE IN MY SIGNATURE SPACE.

And I thought you used PS?

I use PS CS4 Portable for my graphic design class, not for my digital art.

You want a copy. PS by far surpasses GIMP in my opinion. Let me know! Let me know about IM

PS surpasses GIMP? In what universe? Back when GIMP was still < 2.0 maybe, but every single patch since then has put GIMP on par with, or above PS in most of its aspects. It's different and harder to get used to, but it's also a lot better oriented to the kind of tags I do with it.

You're talking to a guy who's used GIMP so long that most people think I use PS and that I'm good with it, so why the heck would I want to switch to PS? You defeated your post by saying "I thought you use PS," because you essentially said that you thought my capabilities were on par with that of a 'professional' program like Photoshop.

Don't think I'm singling you out with this, I get angry at anyone who tries to tell me PS is better than GIMP.

Well you see where my mind is today. And you are right there, the only GIMP I have ever tried to use was probably 2.0, not sure though. Just took a better liking to PS. Is the newer GIMP version user friendly and a little more customizable? I like to be somewhat in control of what I'm using as far as brushes, plug ins, etc...

More customizable, yes (it's already been more customizable than PS). More user friendly, not really. There are thousands of brushes and hundreds of plugins (quality not necessarily the best in all of them). And "trying" and "using" a program are two entirely different things. It took me months to even get partially used to PS.

See, I guess it was different for me then because I got the hang of PS "function wise" pretty quickly as for GIMP, not so much, right off the bat anyway. I guess that just goes to show the difference in people and their comfort zones. I'm comfortable using PS but feel lost using GIMP. Maybe starting off using PS then trying to use GIMP was my problem. Didn't really give my self to much of a chance to get used to GIMP as when I started using PS, PS was the only way back then to create/modify bitmaps for creating textures for maps with the right file extension. Hey, if it works for you (the user) that's all that matters....
