My first animation too lol took me TWO hours :p
also is this photomanipulation?

Ah, clipping masks are good for some things but when working in animation it's usually a good idea to use basic layer masks(the little button to the right of the fx button on the layers panel).

Using basic layer masks allow you to work in more detail without harming the image(of course you know this already lol).

It's pretty simple once you get the basic concept of how it works. Make sure the snow layer is selected then using the elliptical marquee tool select the snow globe(get as close to perfect as u can). If the marquee is givin you trouble then use the pen tool.

Once you have the globe selected right click the selection and choose feather and set it to 2 or 3 px and hit ok. Then click the Layer Mask button at the bottom of the layers panel. Next unlink the mask from the layer You must login or register to view this content. then click on the layer thumbnail You must login or register to view this content..

Now you can move the snow around and it will stay inside the globe and also have a fade from all the edges. Smile
