(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well guys, I just heard the news. I may have a possible solution for you guys. I haven't touched MW2 in a long time, and I'm not really concerned with it, I'm just throwing this out there for you guys to experiment or discuss.

Scenario: They patched the use of proxy servers
Theory: We need to somehow configure a VPS or a program that we can install onto our computer, like Windows Server
Once we install the windows server, we can use whatever it is in programming language that bypasses the game updates.
When we have the server installed and the bypassing code on the OS somehow, we can connect to PSN from our computers using a shared network and an ethernet cable.
Like I said, I have no concern to do any of this, just throwing it out there for anyone to discuss or prove that it does/doesn't work.
Don't quote me asking me questions about how to do it or flame.

Other suggestions that seem plossible:

Their should be a couple of fairly easy ways around this problem. Delete your Game Data Utility as normal, and log on to your router via your Laptop or whatever (can even do it through your PS3s internet browser for most models) and put a url block on the following url You must login or register to view this content. or a re-direct to an exact copy of this file but with the following changed from;

popup="true" signoff="true">

to the following;

popup="false" signoff="false">

and if done correctly, this should prevent the PS3 from attempting to download a patch and thus should allow you to bypass.

In theory we could just block the url in our router settings. Just blacklist it lol

This sounds like a really good idea and something to try and test out. Great post mate it would be great if this actually works.

No. You seem to be missing the point of the post. I believe the very patch that Sony is doing is prevent the use of Proxy Servers, meaning PS3 Proxy will be rendered useless. You will need some form of a DNS change or file re-route done from your router directly, without entering it into the PS3.

Patchblocker was just blocking np.playstion.com or something like that but not this
