(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well guys, I just heard the news. I may have a possible solution for you guys. I haven't touched MW2 in a long time, and I'm not really concerned with it, I'm just throwing this out there for you guys to experiment or discuss.

Scenario: They patched the use of proxy servers
Theory: We need to somehow configure a VPS or a program that we can install onto our computer, like Windows Server
Once we install the windows server, we can use whatever it is in programming language that bypasses the game updates.
When we have the server installed and the bypassing code on the OS somehow, we can connect to PSN from our computers using a shared network and an ethernet cable.
Like I said, I have no concern to do any of this, just throwing it out there for anyone to discuss or prove that it does/doesn't work.
Don't quote me asking me questions about how to do it or flame.

Other suggestions that seem plossible:

Their should be a couple of fairly easy ways around this problem. Delete your Game Data Utility as normal, and log on to your router via your Laptop or whatever (can even do it through your PS3s internet browser for most models) and put a url block on the following url You must login or register to view this content. or a re-direct to an exact copy of this file but with the following changed from;

popup="true" signoff="true">

to the following;

popup="false" signoff="false">

and if done correctly, this should prevent the PS3 from attempting to download a patch and thus should allow you to bypass.

In theory we could just block the url in our router settings. Just blacklist it lol

so, in other words, what you are saying here is in our router settings, instead of blacklisting this website, when this site or XML document is accessed, telling our PS3, or so much as giving it a command to sign off if it recognizes a proxy, we should make it so it redirects to our modded XML command document, saying it is allowed to use a proxy, or in this case, achieving a successful bypass Enzosmart, almost sounds plausible man, good stuff +rep

This actually is an idea to consider, the first two suggestions sound reasonable and possible. It would be great to see
this work

The fact is with the whole server idea that you could run from your computer would be the best possible outcome. Reasons why is not only are you bypassed but im pretty sure if you have your own server you can send mods through or even a whole menu. Im not 100% sure of this but i cant see why you couldn't. If this all becomes possible im sure someone will make a program either online or one you can download and be able to type the mod or upload that menu through this program and send it through your server instantly. But there are pros and cons, Pro is you could possibly have gsc mods without a jailbreak (This would be really good if you need to test on ps3), Con the only way you can have other people there is if somehow they can change there server to yours. I have asked this question several times and never really got a clear answer.

What we could do was create a proxy server on our PC and connect our PS3 to that proxy server.. on that proxy server we would be blockinng "https://a0.ww.np.dl.playstation.net/tpl/np/BLES00683/BLES00683-ver.xml" or redirect it to another link with the same xml file but instead of taking off the popup and loggof like the other guy said simply switch 01.14 with 01.00 so it would say it was in the current version or updated..

Is the MW2 Package that updates your patches. The Package includes the EBOOT, Patch, DLC's and some other files. Maybe you can replace the default MW2 patch with a modded patch and recompile the package. I have not idea on how to recompile the pkg but im sure someone out there can. Once it is recompiled you can redirect the pkg to the recompiled and edited pkg.
