What is the price of this PC? Every time I see "ASUS MAXIMUS" motherboards, I can already tell you're putting a lot of unnecessary money into this PC. I bet RAM is overpriced as well. PSU is a great PSU, but it's overkill and you could definitely get a lower wattage PSU to save money that could be invested into a better PC. You don't need any more than 620/650W. You could easily run a dual GPU setup with overclocked CPU+GPU on a high quality ~600W PSU.

If you're putting more than $1.5k into this build, do not buy it. For $1.5k+, you can get a X99 build.

Yes. X99 is useless if gaming only, but if you had $1.5k, would you rather spend that on a Z97 build with a i7-4790K and a whole bunch of other overkill components (aka motherboard, RAM, PSU), or would you rather balance out that $1.5k and get an X99 build which will perform better than the Z97 build in everything else?

He's spending extra money to go overkill on the wrong components. If he were "only gaming", then why is he getting a $200 motherboard, a $150 PSU, and a $150 kit of 16GB RAM? If he's going to go overkill with this build, then at least get the best that you can out of it.

Also, he has an i7-4790K + 16GB of RAM, so I'm going to assume he's doing more than gaming, possibly streaming and/or content creation. X99 will perform better than the i7-4790K in those situations.

Just think of it this way: would you rather spend $1.5k and get a PC with a i7-4790K + GTX 970, or would you rather spend $1.5k and get a PC with a i7-5820K + GTX 970.

Guessing you want to SLI using two 970s?
Still not bad but bit overpriced.

GTX 970 SLI for 1080p gaming? I'd still rather get an X99 build. As I stated in my previous post, OP is probably doing more than gaming only.

Well i personally think 1500 budget can fit 970s and its a little above 1080p price range its more into the 1440p/1600p/turned down 4k
