Sure, you will have a trophy set for each platform separately. Take motorstorm RC, for example. Not only do you get two trophy sets: one for the VITA, and the other for the PS3, with games which are cross-play enabled, the progress on the PS3 version carries on to the VITA and vice versa: unlock platinum on the VITA or the PS3 and it unlocks the next time you load your game. (ex: motorstorm RC, Hustle Kings, Madden 12)

Yes, but if you get a plat on vita you're friend on PS3 cant see what the plat is but can see that you got a plat.

i got a plat on motor storm rc on the vita and it unlocked it for me on ps3
