So does this means we'll see homebrew on the PS3? Or illegal games? Let's hope it stays at homebrew only.

Well we've heard it all before from Geohotz, but now he claims a '100%' hack, we could well see some proper hacked material on the PS3 very soon. Personally I hope it doesn't work, for fear of games being ruined, but thats just me.

I personally can not wait to see if I can run some homebrew code on the PS3. You know why? Because that means that the PS3 will have all the XP lobbies the 360 had. Well, used to, considering the current patch has disabled that, you would have to bypass. We'll just have to wait and see.

i dont think this guy would mess you around he recently just hacked the newer firmware for the iphones and touches he is a very smart guy and i think deserves credit for doing something like this. like some people of said no1 is forcing you to do this if you dont want to dont . but the size of thesse game on the ps3 is going to be a problem which could mean spending alot of money on them blank blueray disk's?. or maybe you could fit them on a big external harddrive ( 500gb or 1tera bite) ?

Homebrew here we come. Piracy is big on the PSP, but there is a reason for that. How big are the games? 2.5 Gigs at the most? Small enough to fit on a flash drive.

That's why PSP's piracy is WAY up. Portability, and ease of use. It's simple to download a ISO/CSO for a PSP Game, place it on your memory stick and go. I'm sure people here (Yes, even highly respected members of the site) have downloaded a game or two...or more, in the past.

As for the PS3 piracy? Hell no. It will never happen. The games are just too huge, and it's so much on those blu-rays. Who will want to waste their time with it?

I'm down for homebrew though. Let's get this show on the road....

ONE MAJOR question though....Does this require Hardware Mod? If it does, then count me out. I'll wait for Software/Save Game/Tiff Exploit or something along those lines. I'm not cracking open my $600.00 baby, for some homebrew that can be patched easily.

-------No, Geohot made the hardware mods to see how it will be able to work. Since he already knew why didn't work. So someone has to write a program to initiate a new boot order. Also how to incorporate the synergistic processing units. Or else you just have an equivalent to a athlon amd.

-----When it is possible to run game of an external, no one's going to complain. Look at the nintendo WII homebrews. There flawless, well neogamma anyway. And PS3 games are big but not huge. 3 to 10 gig, not a big deal. When I installed the Swiss army knife I thought I was going to be able to play the backed up game. 6.5 gig for in whch the game I tried. Then was dissapointed that it didn't work. You can get a terabyte external for under $100.
