There has been a string of suspensions and banning from XBL and PSN to people who have hacked to above 5th Prestige. It is believed that they are using your stats to gauge whether or not you have hacked prestiges.
You are banned when you log on and get a kill. For this reason I would advise staying off MW2 for the rest of the day as it could be an attempt to April Fool's us from Activison, Sony and Microsoft.
More info will be released when we hear more.
01:58AM GMT UPDATE: It would seem only people with RIDICULOUS stats are being banned for their amount of playtime.

I'm not buying it.
1. You wouldn't be banned after one kill, it would be on your connect to the servers.
2. Why only above 5th prestige?
3. Look at your stats? They could just look at your playtime for most hacked players.
But regardless, thanks for the heads-up I suppose. I do suppose this does have some legitimate evidence if the claims that people are banned is true. (I've yet to see a screen-cap of a ban message)
