Pokemon Black and Pokemon White versions are slated to be released this fall in Japan, which would probably indicate a spring release for us North American fans.

So until that comes, there are screen shots being released.

These are the first direct screens of the new Pokemon games,

Initial Thoughts: I must say that these screens are very impressive. It may look relatively the same but it would appear that they have enhanced the 3D aspect of Pokemon which is a big plus. The cities, and Pokemon Centres look quite impressive.

The battle scene (if it is that, it could also be an evolution scene) looks to be totally revamped. there is a backdrop now to the scene. and it would appear, upon first impressions, that the battle animations are more dynamic and "flashy"

Take a look, comment, and tell me what you guys HOPE to see in this new game that isn't in the screen shots.

Also, on a side-note, with a release for Fall of 2010, it is very unlikely that this game will be released in 3D for the Nintendo 3DS....just saying.

i agree, they've went away from the basic kill pokemon and you've completed the game way of thinking. it's too complex and confusing

ummmm....."confusing"???.....its pokemon....i would like to know its confusing.

But to all who say the old ones are the best:

Games evolve, they have no choice. One of the major criticism on the Pokemon franchise now is that they are the same. The look the same, the sounds the same....basically its the same game just over and over again. Are you guys saying that if Pokemon kept the same graphics, gameplay, sound as Red/Blue you'd be happy?? Even though you have a Nintendo DS which is capable of much more???....

Also don't you guys think they would wanna silence those critics?? I mean so what if they change....accept it...or just don't buy it. I for one am really excited to see what CHANGE they have instilled into this new Generation of Pokemon.

....nuff said.

I don't quite fully understand what you meant when you said about the DS, are they making a new DS?

Lol, it's supposed to appeal to young children. I think only more mature people can be really good at those games though. They take a bit of patience and understanding. I used to play them myself, good days.
