Well if you are one of the Few people on this site that actually buy their things and not download them off a torrent then you are in luck (That is ofcourse if you are a student/Teacher) You will then get it 80% off of it's original price. What a deal if I didn't steal all my Adobe software I would buy this lol

Sorry if this is a off-Topic gaming thing but I just know a lot of people on this site love the Adobe products so hopefully I helped some people on a great deal

My experience from downloading the software from torrents is that, more times then not, you end up with malware that are a pain in the bum to get rid of.

To make things more frustrating, many times, when you think you have obtained a functioning version of the application, it ends up being corrupted or missing plug-in effects, etc....

I have an $8,000 computer which I don't even allow internet access to! If I were to steal the Adobe suite products I'd have to download the software individually (because you'll never find a functioning complete suite in a single torrent) and then go through the painstaking process of determining whether or not each application is a functioning version. Then, once I have a functioning version I'd have to transfer the install files to my editing workstation and install. This is totally not worth the hassle.

I think it's best to get the student/teacher discount and not have any worries! If you're serious about the work you're doing, why in the hell would you steal the software? I could understand if it was 3ds max or something, because that is very expensive software, but the Adobe software isn't that expensive.

If you've never used the software before and you're curious, I guess going through the agonizing process of stealing it is probably worth the couple hundred bucks you'll save. But, still, who wants to deal with the viruses and corrupted downloads? Why not just download the free 30 day trial versions of the software from Adobe.com? Then when the trial runs out, make a new email account and redownload the software until you are fortunate enough to kind a serial key.

Instead of doing all that, just run/install the program using You must login or register to view this content.. Plus if you can't find a legitimate place to download illegitimate programs for(meaning no virus/malware crap/ and getting full versions), then you are looking in the wrong place(ie limewire/crappy torrent sites)

Banned
I'd rather pay for my programs and know that I'm using them legally than use a torrent.

Haha, good laugh, but no. I am running Adobe CS5 Master Collection on an x86 (32-bit) Dell NETBOOK and it works flawlessly. The only programs that require a 64-bit are After Effects CS5 and Premiere Pro CS5. If you get malware from downloading illegally, spend your money on a high-end antivirus. All the experienced downloaders know how to avoid viruses, and my copy of CS5 has had no problems whatsoever. So good luck buying the software.

You would still be paying that with the 80% off deal so it pretty much is 100% off

What the hell is an experienced downloader have anything to do with anything... any of the good torrent sites are bound to have bad or malicious files/apps. You download the software and unzip it, and if the install files look legit you install. The problem I find is that often times the serial generator that gets included as a necessity with a lot of these programs is often malware. Even when you think you found a good rip of your software, too many times you end up with a semi-full version missing plug-ins etc; sometimes you could use the program for months without realizing that upon trying to use an effect (or to that extent) you get a system error. I use the products to video and motion graphic work and I've dabbled with ripped versions, but if you're serious you buy software and avoid the pitfalls.

... By the way.. what the hell is a high-end anti-virus? I don't think a perfect anti-virus exists! I use AVG and Norton Internet Security and I've still had viruses... not to mention, some of these viruses required manual removal that took up too much of my time..

Enlighten me if you will... please explain...

what torrents, anti-virus, protocols, etc. do you recommend?

P.S. - I've never tried to install a whole collection such as the Master Collection... However, I did purchase the Master Collection and, let me say, it was quite the task to install. I can't imagine how with such a large file and so many possible ways that things could have gone wring during the rip that you'd be able to find a fully functional version of the Master Collection!
