As the feud between Activision and Infinity Ward continue, we hear more and more from Activision concerning the matter. As of a couple of days ago, this is what they had to say:

"We wish we could have convinced them to stay", Kotick said. The decision was not made lightly. We felt we had no choice but to terminate the executives I considered them friends, and their conduct was a breach of our friendship."

Despite these issues, however, Infinity Ward is still playing an active role in the Call of Duty series. They are currently working on the second patch of Downloadable Content for Modern Warfare 2, and are working on an unannounced title that may or may not be the Call of Duty installment in 2011.

Activision has also given us a bit of information concerning Bungie's endeavors for the future.

According to Kotick, there are currently 200 people working on Bungie's next title.

Lastly, and most recently, Activision's Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Thomas Tippl gave us even more insight, stating that Bungie's next game may be Wii-bound, as well as iPod / iPad-bound and handheld-bound.

Personally, I'm not sure how I feel on the news about Bungie. I was hoping for more of console-based game, to see what Bungie could do with their new ability to reach beyond the Xbox 360, and to other consoles, the Playstation 3 specifically. It is without any doubt that Bungie will make their way to the Playstation 3, but it is a bit disappointing that they seem to be leaning towards handheld devices rather than consoles.

As for the news concerning Activision and Infinity Ward, I, as well as many others, are probably pleased to hear that Infinity Ward is not completely removed from the Call of Duty series, and that they could indeed be making the successor to Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Your thoughts on all of this?
