That's right people - President Barack Obama doesn't know how to work a Playstation, Xbox, or even an iPod for the matter. Speaking to some students at Hampton University, he spoke out about the distractions that technologies pose to the young generations, and the challenges the US government faces in this technological age.
"You're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't always rank all that high on the truth meter,"
"With iPods and iPads and Xboxes and PlayStations, — none of which I know how to work — information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation.
"All of this is not only putting new pressures on you, it is putting new pressures on our country and on our democracy."
Well, I'm sure Schaff is much more qualified to talk about this than I am, but to be fair, I completely agree. Technology has virtually taken over our lives, and I think it's pretty impressive that Obama doesn't know how to work any of these devices - not that anyone cares. As long as he knows how to work the United States of America, I don't really mind.

No its not, Why would he spend time learning to play a games console? Instead of running a country, we automatically know how to play them because they started to appear in our childhood and not his and why would he need to be embarrassed because he can't play a console, it's not a life skill.

I am surprised at how many of you are surprised he doesn't know how to operate
these devices.
The majority of people don't play ps3 or xbox & only touch a computer at work
or to check their email.
Its is really only the younger generation that is so in to technology & even then only
if mommy & daddy can afford it.
I am 28 and see you kids here on NGU and I am amazed by some of
the things you take as common knowledge.
The majority of people obamas age don't know how to operate these devices.
Besides how cares if the pres doesn't play cod, Hell if he did he mighg like
it and start another real war thinking the soldiers will respawn.
On a side note I bet bush played cod daily & had full knowledge about the devices
because his head certainly was not full of knowledge on how to be pres.
