Enough whining about the high price of the Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Pack! It's time to whine about the likely high price of the Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Pack, due out early next month for the Xbox 360.

During a company financial earnings call last week, Activision's Thomas Tippl seemed to indicate that the next map pack release for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 would drop in the latter half of the calendar year. Apparently Thomas Tippl cannot read a calendar, because June 3, the day the Resurgence Pack is scheduled to hit Xbox Live, is definitely on this side of the year. Perhaps he was talking about the PlayStation 3 and PC versions?

Either way, it's great news for both people who enjoy playing Modern Warfare 2 and people who enjoy complaining about it.

For the players, Infinity Ward is celebrating the announcement with two double experience point weekends, one starting on May 28 and the other on June 4, after the Resurgence Pack is released.

As for the complainers, Activision was very pleased with the sales of the $15 Stimulus Pack, so there's a good chance the Resurgence Pack will follow a similar pricing model.

As for details, all we know so far is that the pack will contain five maps. Here's hoping none of them are remakes, though judging by the name, I'd say one or two might be likely. Fingers crossed!

As far as how this map pack will be is most likely is crappy maps and a high price. If this map pack is 15.99 I WILL NOT Buy this map pack. I'm not sure about you but just about every DLC I've ever downloaded for any game they all aren't as good as the original stuff. (Only good DLC I ever bought was Nazi Zombies).

Well that's what I have to say about This new map pack that will probably not be all that good but then again don't take my word for it. They might surprise us all but I kinda doubt it.

lol i see like 100 people saying that they will not buy it, but when they arrive, you will see 1000 people spamming and going crazy buying the ma pack.

Well probably shit maps, but new maps are always better than playing the same and old maps, that's the reason why i buy them (not because how they are or if they are good) it is because i know i will be playing in new maps, and hey with 25 maps you won't get bored as fast as only 15 maps (and old)

No offense or anything but your favorite maps are 4 out of the 5 maps there were. Wouldn't it make more sense to just say your least favorite map is salvage(The only one I like on Mw2).

No way im going to be buying these maps, IW completely failed on the stimulus package, worst map pack ive ever bought. To be honest, i bought it, played a couple of games, and never played MW2 again since whenever the maps came out. Right now since IW is goin down the drain im pretty sure they are just trying to get the last squeeze of money they can get out of MW2.

Nice find, Koho! It's good to see another map pack on the way, though I am concerned to some extent about the price. From what I've heard, the "Stimulus" Package was not worth the money, and therefore I think that, in return, Infinity Ward could lower the price of this Map Pack, as it would encourage more people to buy it, and, if they are to improve upon whatever issues the Stimulus Package allegedly had, they may be able to redeem themselves in the downloadable content field, especially because more people would be purchasing it.

More and more I'm getting tempted to return to the Modern Warfare 2 world. If this map pack receives enough positive feedback, I may just have to give into that temptation.

In case you haven't been following some of these threads and what not. Infinity Ward has practically no say on the prices, Activision has full control over that.

On the otherhand, I find it pathetic that Microsoft has to pay a couple million dollars just so that their piece of shit system looks a little better. And all the little Three-SHITTY fanboys think they have it made even though they will have to buy more than anyone with a ps3 when 3D gaming really gets going. They just don't realize that the Playstation 3 is the most advanced technology known to man.
