Treyarch seems to be making all the right moves at this point. The game isn't going to be perfect, but it seems to be taking steps forward in the right direction. One thing I'm particularly pleased to hear about is the destructible environments, something that was a major flaw in a series attempting to be nearly identical to actual war.
I'm someone excited with the fact that the game is taking place in Vietnam, something I haven't expressed much in the past. Earlier this year, I learned quite a bit about the Vietnam war, and some of the things that took place throughout it. In the past I had never looked upon the war as one of any significance, but I have come to learn that it was a rather important war, and one unlike most wars fought by the United States. I'm curious to see how they're going to implement Nixon's policy of "Vietnamization", as that is when the America troops were withdrew, leaving the war in the hands of the Southern Vietnamese people. Perhaps from there on, or throughout the entire game, you will be playing as a soldier from the Southern Vietnamese army?
Call of Duty: Black Ops, is definitely turning out to be a much better game than I originally anticipated. Though we have yet to get any solid gameplay footage, I am confident that this game will be of high quality, and will address many of the issues that were present in previous Call of Duty games.
