A: Check You must login or register to view this content. or the now outdated You must login or register to view this content. for an accurate estimation!

Q: Is it safe to update to new Nintendo Firmware, or update my Modchips firmware?
A: It is safe to do both currently - 3.4 is confirmed working with modchips, but will remove the homebrew channel and other unauthorized applications.

Q: How can I avoid "bricking" my Wii, and what is it?
A: Bricking is when you use a game from another region which applies an update to your Wii, rendering it useless/dead. You can avoid this by always having the latest firmware, and by using Wii Brick Blocker or Wii Update Remover to patch images prior to burning them if it is from another region. You can download these programs and more here and here.

Q: How long is the Warranty on the Wii?
A: 12 months - you can also get 3 additional months by registering your console with Nintendo.

A: People who download the browser before July 1 can continue to use it for free for the life of the system.

Q: Will Nintendo replace my Wii I attempted to mod under warranty?
A: It depends, Nintendo will get it working/replaced, but in some situations they have been known to provide quotes for repairs if the console has been visibly tampered with, or traces lifted. It is advised you request the Advanced Exchange to eliminate this risk.

Q: My Wiiconnect24 is not working ever since I got my system modded/took the battery out.

8. With battery still out, turn system back on and setup all your settings.

A: Ensure your WiiConnect24 is on, and that your internet settings are properly configured and working.

Q: Can my modded Wii play Wii games from other regions?
A: Yes - you are best to check the modchip's official site for updates as compatibility is still not 100%, and some titles will not work. Your TV may also not be able to display PAL signals properly.

Q: Is it safe to use a game from another region to update my Wii?
A: Although in most cases this will work without a problem, there have been instances where it can damage your Wii, so to be safe, it is not advised.

Q: Is it safe to use the internet features and updates on my Wii once it is modded?
A: Yes - all online functionality and updates work without any problems.

Q: Is there a way to mod my Wii if I have a newer one with 3 legs missing?
