Instead of making newer models of the Playstation 3 backwards compatible, Sony plans on releasing PS2 Collections of games with improved qualities. With the Sly Cooper Collection, Sony has made plans to include 3D integration, meaning 3D is a possibility for other PS2 games coming back in the near future.

While many gamers would rather have all the PS3 models support backwards compatibility, this is surely a welcomed alternative. So, for those of you without the ability to play PS2 games on your PS3... sit tight; collections are on the way.

I wish they would make it backwards compatible so I could use my old games instead of buying new ones but that won't happen since Sony makes its money off selling new games
